Love that Lip

Describing what exactly attracts me to a particular photo helps me to figure out what makes a good photo and helps me identify what I should be doing for better photography. It helps me learn how to improve. So, as a learning exercise for myself, I'm going to be "diagnosing" my own photos. Also, if there are flaws in the photo, I can identify those as well.
What I love about this photo (aside from the adorable subject, of course) :

DSC_0714

The focus- I like how the focal point is on his cute little lip...nice to have a different focus than the eyes for a change.
His expression- inquisitive, interested, on the verge of a coo...I love it.
The lighting- I love spring. It gives me so many more options for light. This was outside around 3 pm under a tree (open shade)-perfect. The colors are so much richer in the perfect spring light.

The grassy bokeh (or blurry parts)- the grass bokeh gives it a richer color for the background, but it doesn't distract from the subject of the photo.
Creamy skin- I love the skin tones in this...creamy, soft, light.
